Well, as many of you out there may be aware, the long awaited for Wai-con 2011 has come and past, and brought with it much fun, memories and an exciting experience I am eager to repeat.
I met many amazing people, learned a game, bought some stuff and shared lots of laughter! (We even filmed a cmv! [link]) Though due to a lack of camera space, I was very snappy with turning the camera off when I was done, and missed two good moments that were worth seeing. One was James from team rocket (Pokemon) running, hitting and scrambling up a wall. (hillarious) The other was Melissa Mao's (Full metal Panic) dance after knocking Orochimaru out. (Sorry guys!)
I was also very proud (and self conscious) at having made my very FIRST cosplay costume. I went onstage for the first time with my friends in the "BlueTongueCosplay" group. I was so nervous (and excited) that it took all my concentration to TRY and keep my voice steady on stage. I can see improvements I could have made with my part, but oh well! It was fun and worth it! (A big thank you to everyone who welcomed me into the "one of us" crowd!) X3.

Being a person who strives for improvement and sees it important to recognise the flaws in my work, If I were to redo my cosplay, the changes I would make would be as follows: (Oh, and I went both days as Hinata from Naruto... did I mention that?)
_____________________Improvements_____________________
-To use cotton or polyester as the material for the jacket, as it is more fitted to the one on the anime AND would be better suited to hotter temperatures.
-To make the Hyuuga symbols on the shoulders just that little bit larger.
-To style the wig with a fuller fringe, so the side thingys were closer to my ears, not so bobby, and the hair at the back to be the same as on the sides. (Probably sounds like gibberish)
-to have the PROPER colour jacket. Mine was much to dark, though I have learnt now to bring reference pictures while buying materials
-To use a more canvas type material for the shoes, as they were too... fabricy, and putting cardboard in it to give it shape, added with the fact that I was sweating (wetted the cardboard so that it ripped) meant that it made no difference.
-Sew the leg bandages onto the pants neater. (It was a rush job as on the first day they kept falling down and tangling)

You don't have to read all that, it's more for myself than anything else.
Anyway, to all the awesome people I met there, I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN SOME TIME!!
